چکیده
Aim: An investigation into the problems of proximal femoral nails in management intertrochanteric fractures. Methods: This research comprised 50 patients with fractures who received intramedullary fixation PFN. The limb was adducted and held traction. Under C-arm guidance, entry location seen, a guide wire passed over fracture site. To repair fracture, short PFN distal locking inserted under guidance. Results: There were 33 men 17 women. In 28 cases, right side implicated, whereas left engaged 22 patient. average period follow-up 13 months. Closed reduction used 40 patients, open 10 patients. Complications occurred 15 individuals. All early issues, causes failure investigated. include broken nail at screw level (2%), back out perioperative femur (4%), inadequate varus distortion improper positioning placement single neck abductor lurch Infection on surface (4%).

Type II Intertrochanteric Fractures: Proximal Femoral Nailing (PFN) Versus Dynamic Hip Screw(DHS)
Background: Intertrochanteric fracture is one of the most common fractures of the hip especially in the elderly with osteoporotic bones, usually due to low-energy trauma like simple falls. Dynamic Hip Screw (DHS) is still considered the gold standard for treating intertrochanteric fractures by many. Not many studies compare the DHS with Proximal femoral nail (PFN), in Type II intertrochanteri...

The research was aimed at referring to contemporary problems concerning fractures of the proximal femur that, particularly in older patients, represent not only medical, but also social and nursing difficulties. Within November 2004 to March 2006, 83 patients with proximal femoral fractures were treated using PFN. Except for two cases, the post-operative course was favourable and patients could...
